Babies + Body Image
I don’t care what you say, when you are a new mum your life is consumed by all things to do with your little human.
We all know what a crazy beautiful journey that is, but let’s talk about you.
Most women I speak to post birth, struggle with the after math of what their body looks like.
So I am going to share with you, what I did to over come my post baby body image issues.
Your thinking MOVEMENT, EXERCISE, NUTRITION! Well, yes this is a big part of it, but it does go deeper than that.
Instead of telling yourself I need to stop thinking this way, I have another idea that may float your boat.
It is called crowding out.
Work on reconnecting to what is important to you, what gets you inspired, what leaves you feeling fulfilled and makes you happy. Then doing those things on some level everyday will allow your space, time and mind to be filled with all the things that will crowd out the negative.
When your disconnected and uninspired your mind WILL be thinking about all the doubts, insecurities, fears, you will take on other people’s beliefs, you will worry about things that are happening that aren’t happening.
I noticed this when I was away on holidays, one example is when I am paddle boarding I am so blissfully unaware of the body image issues that I used to fill my mind with and the expectations I used to put on myself to have the best post baby body.
Why? Being in nature, in the ocean, moving are really important to me. It leaves me feeling inspired, calm, fulfilled and allows me to breathe, almost like an active meditation.
Think about what makes you feel inspired, fulfilled, full of joy where almost nothing else matters and do THAT more often!
