Day after day I read on social media posts about mums being slammed for certain choices they make.
I am so freaking sick of it!
In what right mind do we (yes us women) think we have the right to judge someone, let alone another mother, for, wait for it - going out for dinner without her child. Or for the way her baby is sitting in a carrier, or for the type of food she is feeding them! It blows my god damn mind every time. I cannot comprehend it.
Unless a baby is in danger, I don't think anyone has a right to judge.
The saddest part is that it's mums judging other mums.
I can't help but wonder if it's jealousy? I have to say I'm pretty jealous that Chrissy Teigen got to go out for dinner with her husband without her newborn. I would love to even have a shower without my kids. Hell I'd love to go to the toilet without the 2 boys and sometimes the dog! But do I think it gives me the right to shame her about it? It wouldn't even cross my mind! It gets me so fired up.
All hail women like Constance Hall for bringing women together, with her honest accounts of motherhood and being herself unapologetically, without the mum shaming.
Look around you at the women in your life. Instead of looking down on them and the choices they make, how about you celebrate the fact that they are just doing their best.
If someone you know is struggling, give them a helping hand, without asking questions, without judgment.
