When I first signed up to receive the 8 Self Love Affirmations from The Movement Room, I had no idea what I was about to receive and how the daily affirmations would affect me.
Here is what really stood out for me and things that I have learnt after completing the 8 Self Love Affirmations:
I need to be grateful for what I already have. What I have now is a body that has healed and has gotten stronger. In the process of resolving my Abdominal Separation (Diastasis Recti), strengthening my pelvic floor and gaining my overall strength, I have learnt more about my body: how it functions, how it moves, the role that nutrition and nurturing have on my body amongst other things. I have also connected with professionals such as Women’s Health Physiotherapists and Pre/Postnatal Personal Trainers that I would have never met. I’m very grateful for the connections that I have made and the knowledge that I have gained through this experience.
I need to be fiercely protective of myself! I am more than a visual appearance! When I am negative about my appearance, I will miss out on the amazing things that my body has done. I will also miss out on the opportunity to teach my children to practice positive self-talk if I am constantly unsatisfied and fixated with appearance. There is no need to be so critical of myself.
My body has gone through transformations. When I regularly invest in my “self-love” bank and remind myself how much my body has done for me and what it’s gone through during pregnancy/postpartum, Ifind it easier to be kinder to myself. What I do today will impact my body in the future. Instead of wishing that I could get my pre-baby body back, I celebrate the fact that it has gone through amazing transformations. The only direction that I can go now is to move forward.
My body wants to move and craves movement! I have learnt that it’s important to check in with myself and listen to what my body is telling me that day. I have also learnt that it is as equally important to have a qualified and knowledgeable professional to guide me through my journey. This qualified and knowledgeable professional will give me the tools, coach me on how to use those tools and my intuition. So, instead of “smashing” my body, I have learnt to integrate movement safely and nourish my body.
Under the guidance and coaching by The Movement Room, I felt supported, empowered, informed and confident each time I went into a session.
