Do you want the profesh fitness answer or the realistic/mum/business chick/wife/I have lots of shit to do answer?
I'll give you the realistic answer, I could go on and on about what science tells us the most ideal programming ever but as a mum unless your training for a sport or a competition it is going to be hard to stick to the perfect program, because no two days are the same.
Here's the truth.
If you are wanting to move for weight loss, to feel good, to look good, to have better moods, to be prepared for whatever the day may throw at you, to have energy, to tone up, to be pain free, to be strong and to be fit!
You need to be consistent, so how can we achieve that?
Your workout timing as a mum then...honestly, I have found is dependant on one or a combo of the below;
1. How ever long it takes
Sometimes you will get interrupted by life (read - vomit, shits, hungry children, emotionally charged tantrums) and it will take longer.
Sometimes you will need to work on preparing the body for the 'working' phase that I know you are so keen to jump into, its only fair to give it some love so that it can love you back.
Sometimes the kidlets will want to join in - and explaining things a hundred times takes time haha
2. How much time you have
Do you want to move when your kids are sleeping?
Do you have shit to do that day and you only have 15 minutes?
3. How do you FEEL?
Have you been up all night with a crying baby or toddler?
Are you so fatigued that you cant say your own name?
Is your baby clingy as all hell?
Is your back sore from feeding?
Have you had the chance to get a meal in?
Have you drunk any water?
Have you been sitting all day because suddenly your baby needs to be fed every five minutes?
Makes it pretty simple and a bit more mum life like doesn't it!
All these things will play a role in how long your workout will take, take the time to see what you need that day.
End of the day, all kinds of different intensities, kinds, lengths of workouts are going to build strong, fit and resilient bodies.
It will also be different for everyone, we can find a way to build movement into your lifestyle in a way that is going to give you what you want and need!
So if your feeling like something is missing and you cant seem to figure out what balance you need, hit me up we can figure it out together ;)
