Congratulations for joining the movement and bringing a little human into the world.
Movement in these early stages post birth big focus has been about healing, reconnecting to the breathe, pelvic floor and core. Now we are moving into more challenging movement to start to rebuild the bodies strength and function, we will be able to focus on increasing the intensity without impact.
Think of birth as a contact sport, when an athlete suffers an injury they have a team of professionals to help them heal, reconnect and integrate back to being back at the elite level.
They have a focus on mindset, reconditioning, nutrition, hydration, rest and recovery.
This is the same for you.
These are all pieces of the healing and reconditioning puzzle. This is still not the time to be doing high impact, heavy lifting work.
This is the third stage of conditioning you for the real demands of being a mama, but now we are getting into the work that you may be getting excited about!
This stage of the post natal movement program will consist of freeing work and mobilisation to encourage hydration to the tissue and healing, reconnecting the breathe to the diaphragm, pelvic floor, incorporating strategies to move towards healing and not away from it, like nutrition, hydration, stress management and mindset.
We will also be focusing on stepping it up a notch, increasing the intensity, challenging your body a little more, still reconditioning it to integrate back into what you were doing before pregnancy.
