Congratulations for joining the movement and bringing a little human into the world.
Is this for me? Level Two is for the mama who is 6 weeks plus. For c-section mamas you may need to wait until after 12 weeks when the wound and abdominal wall have had a chance to heal, if you are unsure of where you are at email me at email@example.com to determine. When the abdominal wall is still healing, and where the focus still needs to be on connecting to the pelvic floor in movement.
Movement in these early stages post birth is about healing, reconnecting to the breath, pelvic floor and core, increasing strength, mobility and becoming pain free.
Think of birth as a contact sport, when an athlete suffers an injury they have a team of professionals to help them heal, reconnect and integrate back to being back at the elite level.
They have a focus on mindset, recondition, nutrition, hydration, rest and recovery.
This is the same for you.
These are all pieces of the healing puzzle.
This is the second stage of conditioning you for the real demands of being a mama.
This stage of the post natal movement program will consist of freeing work and mobilisation to encourage hydration to the tissue and healing, reconnecting the breath to the diaphragm, pelvic floor, incorporating strategies to move towards healing and not away from it, like nutrition, hydration, stress management and mindset.
We will also be focusing on integrative strength that will help prepare your body for carrying, lifting, feeding, bathing and pushing in the pram the ever growing little one you are doting on, also strengthening the core system so that it is functioning as it should and preparing you for more challenging movement in the weeks to come.
